Everything in the forest was so alive. That is something that was logical because there was life and growth in anything that needed to survive here. In terms of survival, she used to envy the organisms that stood at the top of the ecosystem. How they always appeared so fearless and mighty, there wouldn’t be a single thing that could stand in their way. They were either the strongest, fastest or smartest, honestly, it didn’t matter what they were better at. They adapted to their surroundings the best way possible to survive and they ruled it. Ironically they would never rule for long, their survival is dependable on their preys and their preys were dependent on the abiotic factors. The moral of the story, survival was based on skill and luck. That’s how Misaho always felt in moments of possible terror. The possibility of danger was indeed on its way to them. She wasn’t able to answer Kirinji from the moment that Ko halted his movements and she along with the rest of her team mimicked his behavior in not moving. In fact, she hadn’t really picked it up as her attention was caught on other sounds. How she listened in close for any foreign sounds approaching, she picked up loud rustling sounds from above. Not to forget the overwhelming chirping sound. She then caught the subtle hand that was shaken in a manner to say “no” from Ko. Her eyes were stuck to his hand as her anxiety started to build up as her instincts told her to look up. But she knew it was better to avoid meeting eye to eye with whatever was preying upon them from above.

Her figure was as still as a rock, she wouldn’t dare to move right now. For a moment she struggled to breathe properly and was desperately trying to regain its composed pattern. If her breathing would go rapid she would give in to the nerves and allow herself to act on reflexes and impulse. She had to ignore her racing heartbeat that responded to the pumping adrenaline that was built up because of the fear. Once more, she became prey. What an unfortunate fate she had, but it wasn’t all so bad… after all, she always was lucky enough to be the prey that made it out of the claws of the monster. Within a few moments of finally gathering the courage, but also seeing her teammates slowly step back from their threat she mimicked their movements. Still keeping her eyes to the front in the same position so she wouldn’t trigger the thing above them to pounce onto her or any of her teammates. Then she heard Ko’s suggestion to move around the bug, realizing that there were more of these disgusting bugs in the forest. In all time, she hadn’t looked so she didn’t know what they were pulling away from.

“Agreed” She spoke lowly and in the quietest possible tone for them to be still to hear her. Right now she wondered if she preferred the abandoned forests she had come across in the waking world. But again, they might be worse. Both scenarios had many unexpected surprises in line, now to be in an abandoned forest with the possibility of threats being near there wouldn’t be a possibility of being saved. They wouldn’t ever stop chasing you because you were the only one around. In forests like these, if the predator couldn’t get a grasp of you they would go on to their next prey. And that is something that Misaho hoped for to happen. They turned around in safety and never came across these scary bugs again.

His golden eyes caught Ko signaling with his hand and as he witnessed such he glanced over at the others. His eyes followed the eyes of Kasami. First, on the leaf, that was caught in something and disintegrated, and then behemoth green spider that towered over them. It was shocking at first and soon after goosebumps emerged all over his arms, raising the hairs on his skin. He was absolutely disgusted, but he had no choice but to subdue such emotions, which was done by his tightening his hand into a fist. His nail dug into his palm just enough to pinch him into consciousness. After that came the rustling noise and as he studied the creature, he’d see it cleaning its mandibles—worrying him ever so slightly that it may be completely aware of their presence and only prepping itself for lunch. Ko had begun to move backward and suggested that they instead make their way through the forest. As he caught the movement through his peripheral, he then glanced down over at the others. Kasami had begun to move and had also gotten Eiji. Meanwhile, Misaho, who was breathing irregularly, didn’t even glance upwards at the beast but intimidated their movements in order to go into the forest. He slowly reached out towards her, extending his hand to her so she could hold as he assisted. Had she taken his hand, she’d feel the warm hand lightly pull her towards directions helping her maneuver through the field of web. His eyes glancing around her footing assisted as well, but once he had discerned the pattern his eyes remained focussed on the spider.

While the others maneuvered their way out of the web, Kirinji stood there until each and every one of them had cleared their way out into the forest. He wasn’t one-hundred percent sure about taking that path. Deviating from the main road could result in a painful journey. But truthfully, they had no choice. Adaptation. A few principles in staying alive and they had already begun to do so. Once the team had steered their way out of the web, only then would Kirinji follow. His eyes glanced between his footing and the spider above them, ensuring that it would not pounce on him. Even then, he did not fear too much as he knew Ko would be watching just in case. His feet were as light as they could be. Kirinji wasn’t an expert on spiders, but oddly enough he knew that they could sense vibrations through hairs all over their body. Just the imagery of a hairy spider’s hair tingling as it picked up vibrations wanted to make him puke. Carefully he stepped around the web ensuring he was nowhere near close to even accidentally becoming stuck in one of the acidic strings. Even after once, he had completely steered clear of the web, he didn’t turn his back to the spider. Stepping backward ever so gracefully as he whispered to the others in a manner that was only audible to them, ” Let's move quickly, and let's not try to deviate too much from the main path. Who knows what's hidden in the trees.” Had they begun moving, he’d follow behind them.

The wheels in his mind began to turn and the more he thought, the more anxiety he felt. Of course, he hid it well, but his chest felt tightened as if a ship anchor had been glued onto his chest and he felt the entire weight on it. They had only been a few moments in and already encountered a creature of massive size. Not only that, but he hadn’t read any information regarding spiders. The unknowing did not strike fear into his heart, but it strike a severe level of discomfort. And it worried him that it would only progress the deeper they traveled.

((Listen while reading: "It knows our names.."))

=In the moment that everyone started to regroup and opt to go around the webs Ko simply nodded his head. There was a rough swallow in his throat as he regressed back from the previous position that he had been in, making sure that the others were clear just as well and that there were no residual webs strewn on the floor between shrubs to catch them by their legs and burn flesh from bone...that would have been severely cunning of this creature and in a way - the possibility of it made him all the more anxious. There was something about the way that this spider was watching them...something that seemed like more than the common hunting practices of an insect looking for its next meal - no there was something...sadistic about it. The spider didnt move just yet, every now and then ever slightly bobbing down but not enough to know if it was intentional or just its weight pulling its web as it dropped a bit...it started to clean its mandible more at a quicker rate almost as if excited for a minute but soon...they were through the brush on the sides of the road and motioning back around on the other side of the goal post of webs that had been set there as a trap. Ko had nodded in agreement to Kirinji, they were on the same page - for he had only wanted to move around the web gate that was before them and get back on the road...where they had a clear line of sight at what was before and behind them rather than leave themselves at the mercy of perfect ambush terrain...getting back to the road he looked back watching to see if the spider had moved....it had not. However as they started to move further down the road away from it he noticed something from his peripheral and began to turn his head...this place was like a graveyard. He turned his head to see a canopy - one comprised of death and suffering as the light that came through more and more was tinted a deep copper hue - transformed by the blood that stained the webs overhead and in turn...transformed the anxiety in his heart to the beginnings of dread. There were bodies so far ahead up above them - dangling high in the webs tinging the air with the sweet sickly smell of burning meat...then came the groans and screams and Ko's eyes widened as he realized...some of these people were still alive. They were hoisted up in a torture chamber of webs - burning from the acid, some with their entrails picked out as if the spider had been a sloppy half hearted eater...never coming back to fully finish a meal. The next step there after was heavy with bewilderment and brought forth in a stagger before he pressed forward. He needed to get out of here - they all did, but he did not want to portray panic and move any quicker then he had been - taking calm paced steps and pacifying with a deep exhale...but then he heard it....they all would hear it...

((Listen for emersion/accuracy: "It liked the noise she made..."))

A woman's laugh...but it was not either of theirs...nor was it far or one of the bodies that had been hoisted up in its languishing gaol of anguish. . . it came from on high, the laugh...of the spider herself. It seemed to permeate the recesses of everyone's mind - anyone that had been looking at it would see that there were no lips or otherwise on the spider no tools of the trade when it came to making audible - discernable sounds or words...but surely enough it was like...it was just a known thing in the heart - that this laugh came from the arachnid. As she laughed and the people in the web suffered...she hoisted herself up into the canopy of webs - and there she disappeared...at least for the time. It was hard to tell really, there was hardly any movement above them that could be perceived - and despite the weight of the spider nothing shook or bowed under the weight of what would be an expected position change...she was just gone. With that being done, Ko would look between everyone - his facial expression not changing too much but the way that he was chewing the inside of his mouth and curling his lip it would be apparent from how he spoke exactly how he felt about the situation: "We need, to get the fuck out of here."

Eiji seeing the monstrous-sized spider was afraid, no that was not the word. Afraid was a lesser expression of what fear can be. No this was something more akin to terror but before even the slightest hint of terror could be exposed or any negative emotions could show. Before any of his teammates could see him cower a hand tugged on his shirt pulling him away. This light tug snapped Eiji back to reality as he looked over at Kasami for a moment before he felt something stinging inside his head. It was backlash or what could be perceived as backlash from his axon release, but if someone was looking inside it was Imperious yelling at him, *Nauesating, this thing... You must feel it too, right?* As Imperious said this in a loud enough manner to get Eiji's attention.

As Imperious said this Eiji could feel something, his axon was growing but he was not able to tell what he was feeling. It was a murky, eerie, and dark feeling that seemed to cover him for a moment before he turned to the group who were already moving away from the area before he could even say anything though he left Imperious behind with Ko who was making sure the entire group made it out safely and that the spider was not following them as they moved around the web trap. When Ko began to notice the victims around the area trapped and encased, so did Eiji. He began to realize what his axon was sensing though he was not skilled enough to tell more. He was sensing the negative energy around the area. That's why the sense seemed to wash over his body rather than sensing it in a single direction or from a single place.

So when the sadistic, terrifying, and horrific laughter came echoing out for everyone and Ko even though trying to seem unaffected said what he felt probably for the first time since Eiji met him. Eiji looked around for a moment before summoning forth his second puppet. As such Imperious would be in the front while the second one would be in the back with Ko. Eiji took a position in the center of the party as preparation for whatever might happen as the spider disappeared. Imperious would take the role of a damage dealer, while the second much sturdier puppet would take the role of a tank. The second puppet although looking bulky seemed that it could move quite fast and respond to speedy opponents while taking a hefty hit. After getting into his position in whatever formation their group may take Eiji looked at Ko and Kirinji who were veterans for instructions on what the team should do or their ideas for the situation.

The second puppet looks like this

What wasn’t in sight, wasn’t able to scare her. That’s the thought that comforted her, at least what share tried to convince herself to find comfort in. Truthfully she was just scared for her reaction and the following events that could come from it. She had hoped that no one would notice her nerves but also that she wasn’t the only one who struggled to keep it together. That’s why her face was clear of any emotion and she mimicked the movements of her teammates, their pace, and the direction of which way they went. However, her moments of weakness didn’t go unnoticed. She made her irregular breath too obvious despite it only being present for a few seconds. She had caught a glimpse of a hand slowly moving towards her, for a second it only made her more nervous but when she noticed it didn’t trigger their threat it made her calm down. She knew the intentions were to guide her away from the threat, but probably for her to properly calm down. She slowly reached out her own hand and gently grabbed onto his, accepting his guidance and help to proceed and calm down. When she had ahold of his hand she caught a glimpse of what was hanging above them. ‘What the actual fu-’ She couldn’t bear to look at it any longer than a few seconds before her absolute disgust was presented in her mind. She fought back the urge to gag out of the sight of it. That was the biggest spider she’d ever seen and she wasn’t the type that would be disgusted by the normal ones in the waking world but they were much more hideous and sickening in this world. She tried her best to mask her disgust once more by numbing any sort of emotion or reaction towards the thing, that spider probably gains more joy the more fear we would express.

Once she made her way out of the webs and into the forest she was sure to follow behind Kasami, Ko, and Eiji as Kirinji waited until everyone was out of the webs. While Misaho felt relieved the managed to slowly escape the spider, she couldn’t help but feel worried now they strayed away from their main path. But she hoped that the sights of disgusting bugs and arachnids were over. By now she almost started to prefer the sight of someone human but quickly remembered nothing of the sort is better. She wanted to just move along and quickly get out of this horrible forest. The more she followed and moved along with the group the darkness of the forest started to change, the darkness was still there but less green. The sight was shocking, to be honest, were they in a graveyard, in the middle of the forest? And the webs she thought she wouldn’t meet again so soon were stained in the color of crimson… blood dripping slightly from above. She moved her head up and met up with the dangling webs that held bodies hostage, some dead but most of them alive and injured. Her anxiety only went up the roof when their groans and screams were heard, confirming that these people were mostly alive. Her eyes immediately moved towards Ko who had prepared himself to start moving immediately, only to be interrupted by the most horrifying laughter she heard in a long time. A woman's laughter that she didn’t recognize. Her eyes once again moved towards the spider who by now had moved its position as it hoisted itself up into the canopy of webs but then disappeared again, was the spider ready to attack? She then heard Ko alarming them that they needed to leave. Misaho too, leaned forwards and steady in her feet so she was ready at any moment given to make a sprint for it. Would they be able to make it out of here? Misaho knew that running was the best option right now, even though she pitied the victims. She didn’t plan on losing her life to save those who probably aren’t saveable. She wasn’t a hero.

He was happy when Misaho had accepted his assistance as he carefully guided her through the webs. There was no shame in feeling fear. Just as there is no shame in asking for help. He only hope that she knew that. As the group transversed through the foliage and carpeted greenery, he too saw something from the corner of his eye just as Ko had. His head swiveled toward the graveyard where he closely examined it and all that was around them. Soon after his other senses caught up to his sight and it was then where the pungent smell of burning bodies forcefully infiltrated his sense of smell while causing a sour taste to invade his taste buds. As he glanced up, he noticed that some of the victims were alive as he could hear the audible groans and screams here and there.

There was a reason Kirinji Uchiha was successful in the Waking World. There was a reason he was triumphant carrying out acts of war. While many were subjugated to their sense of mortality and what was correct, and what was not, Kirinji had the capacity to shut it out. His golden eyes no longer radiating as they normally were as they had been overtaken by a cold, stern gaze. There was a lack of light in them now. While they gazed at the tortured in the acidic web, he saw right through them. Unfortunately, as much as he wanted to help them, they could not. It was as if he had turned off his humanity out of necessity. They had to remain true to their purpose and anything else would simply delay them. Especially when it felt as if they were so far behind. Their current goal at the moment was getting to the shrines and securing the artifacts. Yes, this was wretched, but for them to become involved would only serve as a distraction.

It was for that reason when they had all reacted to the spider laughing, his eyes had followed the sound with his eyes, and as she disappeared into the darkness—he continued to move forward. ”Let's keep moving.” He said sternly. He however was still mindful of the spider through his yang sensory and consistently swiveling his head. For a moment, Kirinji had wondered if it would have been honorable to put the victims out of their misery. They had seemed to suffer enough and a kunai would do the trick without him getting too involved. However, he advised against such in hopes of not angering the creature. Beast or human, no one enjoys their food being played with. Kirinji only hoped that the spider would allow for them to pass through, but even he knew the chances of that were slim.

There was no time to waste at this point. However, one would be making a gross understatement to say that delicacy and discretion were obsolete factors in how they moved forward beyond the goal-post of webs that had obstructed their original path right along the path that way laid before them. He watched the way that Kasami had pulled Eiji and he reset his position as they proceeded, and Kirinji saw to it that Misaho was with them as well and with that - he focused on the task at hand. He grit his back teeth firmly as he continued on and proceeded through, in a way he was a lot like Kirinji in the fact that he could compartmentalize his feelings for the sake of what was going on right before them. After all, being faced with the horrors of the moment despite making him want to inflict all the same horrors upon the spider that it had done, would only serve as evidence to what was going on right before them...there were so many bodies. And not all of them looked to be simply villagers or the like. Some of them wore masks, some of them armor, and others had katana - rusted and eaten away hanging from their hips. This spider did not just do this here at leisure, these were hunting grounds - no hunting implied that there was a pursuit that was involved at all and here; the prey simply wandered in unknowingly and were scooped up. These were a feeding grounds - and no juvenile one at that. It was something that very evidently had accumulated after a good bit of time and judging by the grave injuries and the fact that the victims were still conscious...the spider had to have been doing something of the matter to keep them alive through the whole thing - otherwise they would have gone into shock and loss consciousness a long time ago.

He shuttered to think what chemical could also be woven up in those webs to keep them going long enough to endure the entire horrible event, but that was something that was neither here nor there at the moment - he'd not intended for it to be a relevant subject matter at all in the first place. It was clear that fighting the spider here when they knew almost nothing of her would be unwise - and if they best wanted to help anyone then they first needed to see to their own priorities first, and simply denote this as a place to return to when they mature in their abilities and correct things at that time. Once they had moved beyond the goal post of webs Ko gave a rounding motion with his left hand signaling everyone that they were clear of that net and able to get back to the road now. He did so carefully but at a brisk pace - making sure to keep haste at the forefront even despite hearing the laughter in the back of his mind...but there was something off about it...certainly the others would notice. For the others...it would sound prominent, loud. To Ko...it was feint like a whisper - he wasnt even quite sure that he'd heard it if it wasnt for the ominous way that the spider retracted upwards when he looked...and Kirinji? He would almost not hear it at all once he shut down his emotions about the matter. It was as if everyone was gauging and experiencing this at different levels depending on . . .
fear. Ko couldnt know that at the moment, so the look that came from him was mainly at the idea that he'd heard such a thing as he proceeded to move forward - however the signs were there..and with it an explanation. The bodies still alive...yes - these were a feeding grounds but come to think of it...why were they still alive then? Why was there no feeding - happening in the feeding grounds?...or was there? She was feeding off their fear....their regret....negative emotions - and with those she tracked, and followed.

They would be able to hear it - see it, a shadow flying across the ground projected by movement of an object from above, skittering, the almost ethereal laughter of the female voice as it went along. Ko pressed on, and as he did so he noticed the way that Kirinji had become a blank slate - unable to be read by conventional means. To the contrary in the specific case however - Ko had seen the tool used before and even done so himself, he knew what it was that he was doing and before he had grown out of the practice of it he had done so himself. But his personality had burned out of control by now, and he was more brash and fiery then that now, especially with current passenger considered; so his conditioning mechanism to the matter was much different then his where as how his looked to be apathy and disconnection - Ko's looked to be violent and vicious. He started to slap his own face a few times and snarl ever slightly, mumbling under his breath: "Shitting hell, if you're gonna have it me then have at me but dont stalk like ya have a crush..." and he continued to press forward. Up ahead - they started to get to a point that the crimson tinged light beaming through the canopy funneled into a more natural color - indicating that the path ahead and away was not too far now. Hope - it had come close. But in similar fashion....so too did the silhouette of the arachnid matriach above them, and as any seasoned connoisseur of pain both physical and mental knew...there was no true suffering without hope. To Ko by now it was faint, but the others would likely hear it crystal clear...the voice of the woman: "But the days...the days go by like winds...and I will wrap you in a sheet to which we can be together...for eternity...until the gales stop blowing.."

The sound of the laughter was becoming fainter to Eiji almost being blocked out by the demonic chuckling that was inside his own mind. The laughter of Imperious that was seeming to taunt Eiji as if telling him that he was being treated like prey. No Imperious laughed simply because not only was Eiji not using his full potential but this spider scaring him was hilarious when he fought against a member of The Burning Dawn and survived, saw what happens when the Salesman gets free, and looked directly at what the Salesman was. This made Imperious chuckle nonstop at the audacity of this creature to attempt to instill fear into Eiji and the rest of the team.

Imperious' unkept laughter caused Eiji's own fear to not only subside but be drowned out slowly, the laughter of the woman was pushed away by the laughter of Imperious, and the voice of the woman that would soon come after would go from a loud echoing sound that was crystal clear to a soft whisper in the back of his head being overshadowed by Imperious' voice, *
Hahaha, look at you, she's toying with you kids and you are falling for it. Prey? No you guys are toys, playthings, something she can end whenever she wants! But I know how to handle her, I know how to use your strength to your advantage, want to hear? Hahaha well, maybe I'll tell you if it makes it interesting for me.* Imperious continued to drown out the woman's words causing Eiji to hear it but only so softly that it was hard to even know whether to fear it or not. Rather than fear her at the moment, he believed heeding Imperious who has been a constant source of both torment and increased strength would do him better, but he never knew what Imperious was thinking, how he was guiding him, or where he should be going, nor how far his abilities could go as Imperious has told him his skills are already strong. The whole time Eiji continued to move in the middle of the group with one of his puppets at the front while the other at the back.

Just moments ago…

She was present and alert, with them mentally and physically as she ushered a fearful lamb across a metaphorical pasture of peril. Her concern had been on them retreating safely from the very moment the decision was made, keeping hold of Eiji’s shirt until she felt satisfied with his own movements to let go, and as she did…

Her fingers loosened on the fabric she held onto tightly and just as the open air kissed the palm of her hand, she froze where she was. It was quiet to her at first, a distant sound she was yet ignorant to, but her ears tuned in with a twitch like radio signals. The groans of the dying and the screams of the hopeless. Kasami’s eyes slowly moved in the direction of the sounds and half way there they just snapped right to it- directly falling upon a man strung up within the webs. His body was covered in blood and his flesh was smoking, singing from his bones. They made eye contact, and for a moment she was petrified. It was like staring into an empty abyss and giving it teeth and arms. It reached out to grab the air from her lungs as its gnashing grin ate away at her resolve. The first thing to sever the connection to this man’s fear was the muffled sound of voices and a woman’s laughter. The laughter of a creature that deserved to die.

Her open hand still outstretched in the air as this transpired in a mere second slammed shut into a fist. It wasn’t hard to deduce what exactly was happening with their teammate considering her usual standing with these situations. Here they were among a nest of a beast that was taking lives. The real struggle was convincing herself that they needed to go more than they needed to rid this forest of this disgusting bug. They might be comforted to know it was a battle she was waging already with herself and she wasn’t going to put them at risk as she fought herself on it. Instead of saying anything or acting brash out of her feelings, Kasami started to walk again in silence, following Ko close behind. It was clear that she was brooding and unhappy with this situation and decision, but at the moment Kasami was too mad to be afraid. Were it not for her conversation with Ko before they had left the castle, she’d probably have already told initiated the first attack against this arachnid stalker of theirs. Hearing her in the canopy above- it was almost spurring on her anger, but still she kept her composure. The fact that it wasn’t visible and that she was silent was more a tell that she was extremely pissed off and fighting with herself about what to do than if she had spoken about it.

It wasn’t the time, and there was no telling whether or not this was part of Naraka’s normal. This was a natural creature just living in its habitat, not an invasive force that needed to be dealt with. She didn’t know the people she’d killed, who they were or what they were capable of. She knew that they had bandits in the area too so who knew… No, it wasn’t the time or her place. If she felt as strongly about it when their job was done, she could come back. For now- focus.

In her mind she was arguing herself and then she had a thought when logic had finally won out against her heart. Mikaboshi was probably really tired of listening to her argue with herself and be so bipolar. She’d changed her temperament five times in the last two days. It was time to buckle down. She owed Ko, no one else but him and herself. She’d do better just remembering that and not overextending herself again. Let people earn it… Yeah. That sounded good.

What would become of them? The question lingered in the back of her mind as she was struck in the face with the petrifying sight in front of her. The appearance of the arachnid left her in hysteria and doubt. She honestly experienced a whole rollercoaster of emotions from the second she arrived here. From skepticism, confusion, fear, and eventually to disgust. The spider's laugh alone was already disturbing, but that alone wasn’t what haunted her. It was the realization that this spider appeared intelligent, its motives weren’t as transparent as the general food cycle. It was clear by the way its victims were all alive that the spider wouldn’t attack for consumption but rather for any other reason that would give the spider satisfaction. Misaho was never one to pay mind to those around her, she always prioritized her own health and own life. Of course, she wasn’t sure how the rest of her team felt given the reason she knew nothing of them. Her main objective was to prioritize any way of escaping the spider, she wouldn’t wanna engage in it but knowing that the spider wasn’t some simple creature gave Misaho the assumption that this probably wasn’t gonna be easy. The arachnid moves stealthy and seemed to calculate its movements when and where to move towards but also when to poke at them by intimidating them with its laughter. For now, it seemed she was more likely to test out their reactions. Other than this, there wasn’t anything else that stuck out to her about the spider. Who’s to say that this was the only one of its kind that roamed around here and what of its abilities?

The woman dug her nails deep into her hand palm for a few seconds a habit where she usually tries to snap out of her anxious state. It was her way of numbing everything out for a few seconds, a small period of time where she couldn’t feel anything including the fear she had for the spider. And just like that she succeeded to remove any signs of her fears, not allowing her fear to take over the way she breathed, moved, or talked. There was no time for her to look back on how these other people might have felt or still feel, she didn’t know who they were and it wasn’t her objective to pay mind to them. It was as if she completely had blocked out the voice of the spider that spoke to them, ignoring its voice and chance to make her feel anxious. And just like that Misaho followed behind the others in her usual position, silently moving along their directions. That is when she took notice of the clenched fists of her teammate. By the pressure of the clench, she could tell that Kasami might have felt completely different on choosing to continue. That made her wonder, would she of wanted to save them? Were there others on this team that would have saved these people?

Despite the fact that they were sent here for a different purpose Misaho probably still wouldn’t initiate an attack on the spider. What would she gain out of it other than risking her life for someone she didn’t know other than the feeling of pride. Would anyone risk their life for her if she was up there? Most likely not, she believed in the cold truth that people only lived to survive and nothing more. That was the only knowledge she possessed, the only way of living she faced. Who were these victims? Were they bystanders that met the fate of ‘being present at the wrong time’? Or were they bandits that messed with the wrong creature? She did understand that despite who they were that there’s no person that would be deserving of any torture, however life, unfortunately, does not care about who deserves what. Things will just happen, just like she met the Tengu who offered her to come to Mebu’s Castle. That’s probably why meeting the masked man left an impact on her, while Misaho was convinced that things don’t come from reasoning. The tengu was there to go after those who commit acts of injustice. Would the tengu go after this horrible creature? Naraka held a majority of mysteries Misaho had to unravel, just like with this revolting arachnid they will have to deal with. She managed to catch a quick glimpse of the flying shadow that was projected on the ground before them. It seemed that it indeed started to stalk them, her guess was correct. It was not gonna let them roam freely.”Looks like this bugs the persistent type that doesn’t take no for an answer…” She muttered lowly under her breath in annoyance.

There is a touch of emptiness every time one has been forced to abscond their morality for a greater purpose. A civilization burned to the ashes over there, a village burned down over here, and a blind eye turned to those in need of help—all those incidents a single moment. Live long enough, soon enough, those single moments turn into thousands. Now, one has the blood of thousands on their hands and their conscience. Many would go insane, but there is a fine line one must ride. They must numb the soul in order to continue, but with that comes the sweet taste of bitterness, and a thought. The thought that—had you been powerful enough in those moments—collateral damage, or sacrifice, would’ve not been necessary. Was this the drive? Kirinji opened his bandaged arm as it rested down near his leg. Within a moment's notice, a sword appeared, his hands gripping tightly right under the guard with the blade within the sheathe facing upwards. Bits of chakra, like water droplets tinkering down, poured from his hand into the blade, more specifically, the kanji within the blade.

The blue-haired Uchiha was correct to assume that the spider would not allow for them to simply roam through its domain. While the laughter had faded, the presence of the spider had not. He was very well aware of the spider’s location so it came as no shock when the spider had moved before an escape. It seemed that just like these webs, their encounter was woven into destiny. An encounter of some sort was not avoidable. Though there was something going on. While the voice had drowned out of his mind, it seemed to pester some more than others. It was surprising to see that Kasami had not stood her ground in order to aid the victims. Perhaps she too had numbed the soul. It was no surprise that the boy had found himself in the middle of the group. It seemed no matter where they went, he would place himself in the safest of positions hoping someone would make up for his lack of. It annoyed him, even provoked thought of, why not use him as a sacrificial pawn to gain entry forward?

Soon enough Kirinji came to a stop. Moving forward may not be a great idea for the spider may pounce on him. He’d signal the group very subtly to stop too, but had they continued, he’d simply stand his ground in the back and watch. After a moment of silence, he’d begin talking. Just to talk it seemed like. “I’m not even sure you understand me,” Kirinji said aloud. It was most definitely directed at the spider, “But we did not mean to trespass into your domain. And we had no intention of disgracing your area we merely seek passage forward. So if you would, so kindly, allow us through... We’d greatly appreciate it.” The man did not move. Only merely waited for a response, whether that was through action or if it were through words. Regardless of the outcome, he was prepared.

Meanwhile

-
The aroma of incense started to fill the air of the room. The only thing that illuminated the darkness of the room was tht of three candles. They cast light upon the white curtains that had been cast all around the subject of the room itself - that set knelt in prostration before a sapphire idol. The man's head raised and the darkness of the room was greeted by the darkness within...mask of The Tengu. He looked up at the idol and for a moment the space inside of the small room started to get heavier and heavier as he focused upon it and for the final moment there broke the silence with a simple word.

"Bind."

As this word was spoken it would seem that all of the density inside of the room as well as the heaviness would have been sucked away - focused on the whirling vortex that was the idol itself that sat upon the podium before him as it swallowed everything within only to shift the presence of The Tengu to a location that looked albeit similar - entirely different in feeling and atmosphere. The sound of water dropping permeated the air, and as the silence was broken by such The Tengu would lower his head again and inhale deeply. Footsteps would begin to make way towards him, delicate and slow - sounding a'kin to the dropping of water itself to a point that almost no difference could be made out; The Tengu did not waiver in his posture...it would be improper of him to look
directly upon them. Powerful as he may be - he was still not foolish enough to question the wisdom behind tradition, and as such he would not allow himself to look upon their grace more than one time in a year time span...they're majesty would overwhelm him and quite potentially drive him mad. Soon the footsteps ceased and there was silence in the room once more for only a brief respite before the room started to vibrate. There were sounds drowned out that may have been described as kin to a voice - but it sounded distant, and muffled behind walls uncountable cast over obstruction that could not be imagined. However, The Tengu would respond back in kind - perfectly capable of perceiving the language of the gods.

"Of the number of shadow cast upon Naraka I count three, my radiance.
One of which unshackled, That one is a wild card the likes of which I, can not even discern the nature of their intent.
I will keep watch upon that one so that I may better determine the path his destiny may take.
The other two as you've divined, are as you say. Dark - bleak manifestations of an ire and corruption the likes of which Naraka has not seen since it's conception at the hands of the first cruelty. If these shadows are not diminished - and cast from this land by ever blinding light then they too, will certainly plunge this world into an ever deepening darkness. The green haired one is among them. I can feel him aiding their advances as well....The Ashida Tengu.
...
Yes my radiance. I shall wash him away, I vow - as such is my purpose.
...
No, she has yet to step into her true purpose. She has not yet mastered her powers and abilities. Her heart, is still in her flesh. The world of the secular. She's of a love - deep and true to those that she has devoted herself to. She is yet to grasp the true gravity of the events unfolding before her. She loves those she is beholden too far too strongly, and her obligation to them polutes the purity of the blessing you have granted her.
...

If I may, my radiance. I've concerns that she may be a waste of time. She is too self-assured. The taste of victory has deluded her familiarity with disaster. She can not discern its scent on the wind. Taste the blood mist in the air. Your grace, it could be of better use with me. I can find a successor to take the place of the Ashida Tengu once I've washed him away. Or you could pour your grace into me - I'am strong enough. I can handle it. I can exact your-
...

-Suddenly, a loud crashing like a meteorite piercing the atmosphere and shooting straight down upon a lake pierced the silence. The water that was upon the floor seemed like a lake in the way it suddenly burst up and out around The Tengu - and there at the precipice of it was his body, rag-dolled in the air before slamming down upon the water once more. The aftermath of the impact made it seem like it was raining as the water fell back upon the surface - settling slowly as the indifference of The Tengu mask faced upwards. Soon, his palm was flat upon the surface of the water as his wrist waivered, and body trembled pulling himself to sit upright. His face never raising up as he pulled his posture together and made sure to keep his gaze averted downwards, and not again speak until he was back in the posture of prostration. Once he was reset in the position properly - a cough came from behind the indifferent mask, as he continued.

"My apologies, your radiance. I wish not to assume I can fathom your will and intent. Your design is as all things under your creation. A perfection, inconsequential. Forgive my insolence.
...
What of the girl? I-...I simply saw something in her. She...no - no a Tengu is true - at all times. She...
I saw something of my brother within- . . . the vessel that I was' brother within her. Mikaboshi. Not in power. Not in strength or determination.
...But in fear. She was running. She'd gotten good at it. She ran so far that it brought her to this place. Mikaboshi...Gengoro - he was always running. He became what he was because he was sick of running...and there was no one to show him how, not like you showed me. Those that follow The Dragon, Izanagi. Perhaps they will show her. I wished not for her to be cast to the wayside.
...
No, there is no bias - my loyalty is to the certainty and inescapable assurance of true justice. I simply wished potential not to go squandered.
...
Arachna? One of the three sisters? The youngest...I should have known she'd take root in Ouka like a fool. But why would they be confronted by her so so-...could it be shadow-cast?
...
Then that would make her an agent of shadow now. It would be only within my duty to make haste to eliminate her.
...
. . . . . .
I understand.

. . . I shall trust in the wisdom of your radiance. . .
...

. . . And I shall trust in the wisdom of The forest Kappa. . .

What foolish a deed, to stalk the Ouka forest undue.

Where wait a river of Kappa, and the Hawk-liege reign true.

-At The Current-

Soon everyone stopped, Ko at this point had been further up so when the abrupt stop had occurred the expression upon his face as he turned to everyone was one of confusion. Looking at the fact that now by this point Kirinji had drawn a blade, Kasami's hand was clenched in a fist and her demeanor was clearly one of repugnance at the coldness they had to display here, and Eiji - though obviously afraid to a rational proportion started to get a better grasp of himself and the situation and calm down; Ko looked to Misaho in a manner that one would generally look to another seemingly like-minded person to build rapport and consensus as to whether or not they were the only one feeling the thing that they had been in the moment. And as far as Ko could tell here in the moment from the look of things Misaho may have been the only one besides himself that was truly sane in the matter at hand. He may have not liked it - but the fact of the matter was that this kind of thing happened all the time. People died. It was something that could not be helped and now that they were here, what? Was something supposed to have changed now of all the time? They were new here - and as far as they knew what they were witnessing right now could have been going on for years and years beyond their existence; hell - for as long as most of them had been alive for all they knew people could have been stumbling in here being eaten and tortured by this abomination, and just because a team of disorganized shinobi passed through they were supposed to change that? It sounded like the plot of a movie, and the only thing that he could think was - he was supposed to stand ground and fight this creature and put Kasami's life at risk? He thought about what had happened at Kagane, and the fact that Izanagi had trusted them with a particular duty and role to play. He knew how plans worked - a war wasnt won with simply one operation from one group of people fighting it all on their own. It was done with strategic planning and everyone had to play their part and ensure that it was done to see the plan come together as it was supposed to. And when all the pieces fell into place - you win. Now...those people from Kagane were on his mind.

Those families, those children...that too could have been going on for years without them ever even knowing that it existed or could happen. But that was something that they could have had a chance at changing if they only played their part - and now? They were supposed to risk saving more villages, more families, more children from a fate like that in the future? If they failed, if they were taken off the board what would happen? Thats a puzzle piece not coming together, thats a part of the plan - not coming to fruition...the children - they had to save the children. He had to keep Kasami safe. Think of the kids! Think of the kids? Why was he thinking this? It was a thought that to him had come out the blue - he had never had it before. Why was there so much sorrow in his heart at the thought of the children in particular? Why was he thinking of him and Kasami, the children they could have and the future they would need to secure for them? He loved her - but he had never thought like this before. It felt out of place - was he deciding now? Now, to have a deep moment of thought and actually think of his future? Now in the face of what could be utter doom - he chose to have an epiphany to ascertain his future? No, it was out of place and inaudibly - his body protested the conflict of thought cascading over the surface of his mind by attempting to pacify all thought in general with the bottom of his palm, striking it against the side of his forehead a few times as if to unjumble his thought process as an entirety just when - it happened.

1647808891799.png
-He was back in that void inside his head. Inside the mask. This time he was in a grassy field and the sun started to hone down and get brighter and brighter till finally, it dispersed - and the night fell all all around him. Illuminated only by the immolation of the grass all around him as she descended upon him with all of the grace, and delicate elegance of an angel. The tune she played on her flute was beautiful and as she came lower to the ground and cascaded to a stop so too did her tune as her hand came to rest upon his cheek, his nostrils filled with the scent of embers and cinnamon as her warm touch softened his expression and she smiled down upon him with a hair of crimson red that seemed as if a living flame in itself. Her wings - ruby read fluttering behind her.

"You love her. You love her so much."
"You! Okay, we'll do it! Shuzaku you have to help me."
"...heh...why?"
"Why!? What do you mean why? I have to be able to save them, save her - this thing is something we've never faced before and now here we are about to be plucked into the belly of the beast and we've accomplished nothing."
"No...why? Why do you need to? Don't answer for them. Don't hide behind your team, and your convictions, to conceal your own emotions. You want this...for you. You want this, in your heart. Tell me why."
-
He struggled with it. He'd been pushing it from his mind all this time. From Konoha. To Naraka. To the temple with Daikokuten. To Kagane-
"Heh...look at you child. Afraid of being weak. Afraid of being vulnerable. Hiding your emotions. You've spent all this time living against your emotions. Letting having them, label you as weak - and now...you've forgotten how to live with them. Thinking of them as a hideous thing, when truly...your heart without them - is the only thing that has become hideous. These emotions are beautiful. I can see...right....into you. There is a furnace in there. A furnace just like his. I can give you the power child...but you cant snuff it out. You have to do it. Admit it. Speak it true - for you.

"You have to let that fire burn."

...

"I need you to do it. I need it because...Because Im weak! I'm weak and no matter how strong I've gotten I've never been able to protect anything in my life! Not even myself! Sure - my flesh has survived. But the rest inside has died. All through my life in ANBU, seeing comrade die time and time again. Every time I got better and better at being indifferent but in truth; every time one of them died - I died with them. Asking myself what could I have done different? How could I have saved them? How could I have saved the part of me that died with them? Where did I go wrong, where did I sleep when I should have trained? Where did I eat when I should have trained? I need your power because I'm weak - and for the first time In a long time I don't want to be indifferent. I dont want to die inside with those around me I could have saved dying outside. I want to protect Kasami. I want to protect Kirinji, Eiji, Sentou, Misaho, the monks back at the castle, the people in Naraka, the future -

I want to be able to protect myself!"

High in the canopy of the forest. The spider descended down upside down laughing as Kirinji brandished his blade and the group stopped. Though the moment that this happened something drastic would have changed all about the scene of the moment. the spider rappelled down on the silken web attached to it and as it did so the mouth opened wide...uncharacteristically so of a normal spider and from it came a pair of hands. Those pair of hands seemed to pry open the spiders mouth and from it came the visage of a woman - smirking wide with a forked tongue that lashed out and caressed every inch of her face before retracting back in. She pushed her long hair from her face as well as the residual slime from her tongue as her spotted eyes addressed the grouping with a smile; half the torso of a woman, flesh exposed in the nude - alabaster contrasting against the bright sun looked upon them and smirked to what the blue haired man had suggested. Those in the web started to scream louder, seeming as if their suffering was becoming more and more intense as the body - the spider itself started to rub its pincers together almost involuntarily of the woman's functions as she started to speak. All the whole dim lights pulled from all of the bodies in the network of webs and started to manifest on the web network like small buds - almost similar to spider eggs with the exception of the fact that this was very obviously some form of chakra. These orbs were plentiful and dotted the entirety of the web network with meagre spacing to the point that the entire network of webs above them looked like a star system - one of the orbs focusing, and beaming down aside of the group to strike a centipede that was crawling nearby, completely cutting it in half. . . miniature chakra spheres - casting almost like a laser and now the sky above them was a'lit with them. The woman smiled as she started to speak:

"No."

"Heh, where as that would be very nice of me now wouldnt it? I would have to say, no. You see - someone in particular has it out for you all. And I have been waiting for so long, so very long. These boys come along in waves - my oh my...heh, I had to wrap the in a sheet so they could stay a while~ All of that trouble, looking for you. Well, it just would be a waste if I let you all leave so soon wouldnt it."

She said as she then looked down over at Ko. Her brow raised as she saw the metamorphosis happen right there before her eyes. His body was enveloped in a vermillion chakra. It wasnt wild, it wasnt bursting out everywhere but it was bright - it's luminescence blinding sparking gold upon him as he looked at her with an expression unwavering, unblinking. His focus was entirely upon her as his eyes were filled with vermillion chakra. At this point his pupil was overlapped by it - glowing vermillion as he looked upon her and the ground beneath him had been scorched so much, so precisely that it looked like hardened obsidian beneath him, shiny and sleek. She stared at him for a moment, distracted by the sudden change and power that welled up within him - but had she been deterred? Definitely not. In fact the only thing that changed is that her mind went from toying with them, to taking them seriously at this point - and talking went out the window. She was now about to pounce and as she readied herself looking at Ko, she realized sudden movement in the bush behind him. Her eyes averted there only to meet with the bush in as plain - normal sight as it was, but then she caught motion from her peripheral that casted her gaze aside and up. There was a flash bomb - whirling through the air. And the moment she looked at it - that was the last thing she would see before blinding light. Two more bombs would fly from the bushes on each side of the path, one dispersing a bright jade light and the other a dark purple one - followed by a voice:

"Quickly! Get them to the village!

With that being said, several beings would al jump from the treelines. Some of them shot down on rappel lines cast by spears, and others would come spiraling in - tortoise shells on their backs propelling them with what looked like fire as they spun through the air only to land with a slide on their feet, casting serrated coils around the spider queen. As they did this - another one with a big shell, mostly adjusted to the top of its body and two spectral spirits came charging through the woods. Ko seemed shocked - the moment that the jade bomb exploded, the celestial chakra that had overtaken him subsided and his eyes returned to...semi normal. They were still vermillion now but not glowing - he didnt know that just yet though, not as if he was looking in a mirror but he did examine himself, seeming entirely knocked out of trance when suddenly the dogs would snatch those who'd meet their lowered head (two per dog, two dogs.) up onto their backs, while the shelled being in the middle would open his hands as if to scoop up a baby, and they would expand out with webbing like a frog - making a canopy to catch those in front of him (wide enough for four) where he would scoop and keep running away from the scene of the ambush they had set up. Ko would be scooped up by the being's hands - immediately yelling out in bewilderment: "What. The hell. Is HAPPENING!?" as the being would dart off into the distance with the dogs and those onboard. Devastation, the screaming of the woman, and the struggling of the shelled beings echoing behind them. This was after all the forest of the Kappa. And they would see to it that their forest, and guests - were taken care of promptly. There was some distance to cover. But if all had allowed themselves to come with they would soon be scooped off to the village of the kappa, Ouka checkpoint - ironically, where they should have been headed anyway...but there were no Senpu monks. Only a neighborhood of shelled Kappa walking about their way. This could be seen from the village gate, riddled with moss and tattered as it was - there was a particular tree with a hollowed out hole inside and an abandoned shack just outside the village. The kappa chauffeur would stop at the gate, dump them off - and the dogs would as well follow suit. Two strong stomps planted clawed feet in the ground as the being with ceremonial banner a'fixed over its face threw itself forward and demanded in a goofy - nasally voice.

Her head was not in the moment with them. Kasami was of a wandering mind, and that it did even in this very moment. Despite being stalked by a murderous creature, she couldn’t help but find herself staring at herself in her mind. A reflection, or maybe a version of her that she wanted to be, at arm’s length. Just a fingertip’s length away, with a rippling barrier of trials she had yet to face to get to her standing in the way. Who she wanted to be was enveloped in a radiance akin to the sun, powerful and beautiful. Someone that people could look to and find comfort in her presence, knowing that if she was there, things would be okay. She would help them…That was not who she was. It was far from a dream right now, and she had to come to terms with this fact or it would only lead her astray in the future. She wanted so badly to be seen for the good she could do and the strength she possessed when neither of those things were true about her in the first place. She was weak, and therefore she could offer nothing to the people of Naraka right now but who she was as of now. She nearly felt like that was not good enough, but…

Would she be there if it wasn’t?

Would Ko…

The fear within her started to quell and it was replaced with comfort as she reminisced on a conversation she had with him not too long ago. It was the quiet and personal exchange of words they had just before the bridge leaving Mebu Castle. She had made herself really vulnerable to him in that moment, and he didn’t disappoint with his approach. Part of her had expected some half-hearted sentiment and an usher on forward to join the group, but…

I always see you Kasami. If I was only choosing someone I could mold, then I wouldn't have started with you. I saw you from the beginning and still do.

It was what she had needed to hear in the moment, among other things that he had said, that she felt had set her on the right path she was finally meant to take. Yet she was still unsure, as she always was, for the time being. She needed to find some time to really do some searching within herself about her pacing. The person on the other side of the rift may be who she wanted to become, but she couldn’t force herself to become that with no justification. She had to earn that, she had to work for it. She had to train, break her back for it. She had to sweat and cry and grovel for it. No one weak deserved to be hailed by anyone.

Kasami hadn't stopped immediately when Kirinji decided to turn his sword to the arachnid trailing behind them. Whether this was an intentional act of abandonment or a misstep in her distracted mind was up to their interpretation, but when she did stop, she didn't turn around at first. She watched the forest ahead of them for a moment, having stopped a few paces past Ko now, with her back to the group. Could they not have just kept walking until this beast gave them no choice but to act? Or was it better to not have her at their backs for her to decide she did want to make an enemy of them? Yes, that sounded like a likely possibility. Kirinji was one of the most experienced among them, aside from Ko- she had to trust his decision.

As she turned around to face the spider and the rest of the group, she'd quite honestly wished she hadn't, but she couldn’t really anticipate what she would see. The fact that she was a spider had been on the back burner of her mind to begin with but she certainly hadn't expected to see the face of a woman and a nude torso. Kasami couldn't quite tell whether she was still scared or just completely thrown off by this new development. Creeped out was more accurate than afraid. Was there a whole person inside there or was this... half body- a part of the spider? The creatures of Naraka were truly a mystery and she barely had anything to offer to them to help in this kind of situation as far as her research went. Her expression was that of confusion and a slight mortified gape to her lips, much like how it had been when she encountered "Mikaboshi" at the temple. Alluring in its own way and yet hideous and deadly. It seemed to be a running theme around here.

Her focus on the spider snapped away as the screams around them got louder, drawing her eyes up into the canopy of the trees around them, watching the lights among the leaves grow brighter as their numbers increased en masse. It was like watching the night sky’s clouds relinquish the blanket of darkness from its veil as the stars came into view. Kasami took a reflexive step backwards as if she was ready to run or dodge, and in a flash a laser of chakra shot down from the tree to the ground near them. Too fast for her to react, her eyes couldn’t even follow it completely, only able to see the remains of a dead centipede where the light would have struck. And with that realization she became more afraid, and less ready to take on this spider. She looked at Ko as if he were her saving grace and finally noticed that something was happening with him too. That chakra again...

The kunoichi managed to shake herself from staring at the enveloping chakra around Ko in time to hear the whizzing of a flash bomb right past her. The bushes rustled and she ducked down, tucking her head into her thighs with her hands on her head as all manners of people and things came flying into the fray over her from the tree line. The flashes of light were dimmed in this position and her vision was saved from missing out on the sight that she beheld when she stood up and took everything in. She was just as confused as Ko was, finding herself scooped up along with him, standing nearest to him. In their makeshift transportation she was thrown into his chest clumsily, apologetic and flustered with her unawareness at the situation. Who the hell just picks people up and bolts? Kasami seemed like she was quick to pull herself off him, trying not to get in his way, as she looked ahead of them at where this thing was taking them. It was fast approaching. The gate- it was right there before they knew it. They had been so close if they hadn’t run into that spider.

As she was dumped out on the ground she landed on her feet, squatting down with her forearms resting on her knees as she tried to calm her whirlwind mind. Ko’s question was valid. What the hell was happening? The two stomps and appearance of clawed feet threw her off balance, falling back on her rear in the dirt as she caught herself and looked up. She blinked a few times, but was unable to answer the question. It was like her brain didn’t even really process that he had asked anything. Was this… a turtle man? Really…?

I miss Konoha sometimes… Normalcy. I miss normal.

There is an ancient text that Kirinji stubbled across decades ago that identified mental factors that inhibited progress in meditation and in daily lives, and in turn, would serve as obstacles to tranquility. It was known as Goshōsetsu and the inhibitors were kāmacchanda, vyāpāda, thīna-middha, uddhacca-kukkucca, and vicikiccha. The first was sensory desire and it was the process of seeking pleasure through the five senses. The next was the feeling of hostility, resentment, and bitterness. Thīna-middha was identified as half-hearted actions. Uddhacca-kukkucca was the inability to focus one’s energy. And lastly, vicikiccha, lack of conviction. Kirinji took it one step further because the way he interpreted it was that it not only served as an obstacle to tranquility but in almost every scenario. This also translated to combat. No doubt, effortless movement, reacting instead of thinking—it all resulted in swifter movements and a lot more.

So when he turned his left shoulder over and turned his head to the spider, you could see the focus within the coldness. The relic observed a pair of hands slip out of the spider’s mouth before prying it open. Out came their true opponent, a half-nude woman smiling devilishly at them. The imagery was disturbing, but the blue-haired man did not react nor did he even think about the disgustingness of the visual. Any other time, he would’ve, but in this instance, he was focused on only the objective. The ones caught in the web began screaming and the theory that she was using them for strength was the first thought that came to mind. Although, she wasn’t feeding on them which was natural. Now that he thought about it, they were all alive. Any regular creature that lacked sophistication would’ve consumed them entirely. But she—she was “feeding” on them differently. How? He had no idea. The immediate area dimmed momentarily before lighting up like stars in the night sky. Chakra orbs emerged all throughout the network and his curiosity was only short-kept as he witnessed a chakra beam cutting a centipede in half. Hopefully, that was all it could do but he was not naive.

The Uchiha was not surprised by the woman’s response at all. Well, outside for one thing she had said about that someone particular had it out for them. And that the rest of these, they were merely collateral damage for her until she found us. Was it the Burning Dawn? Were the intelligent creatures involved in this war? Clearly so as it had transcended human bounds from this interaction. He wanted to believe it was them, but nothing was ever black and white here in Naraka. Kirinji responded to the woman in a dry, sad tone “That’s unfortunate to hear..” as she looked upon Ko, he felt a rather nostalgic chakra burn brighter than he had ever felt from the man himself. Kirinji had encountered the Vermillion Chakra before and at the time the host was Shi’Chi’Rou. Ko had many more metamorphoses to occur, he knew that. The boy was special. So was the girl that bore Mikaboshi’s Rinnegan. At that moment, Kirinji saw the distraction within her eyes. “Now?!” he thought to himself as his left hand reached across him gripping the tsuka tightly. He was just about to unsheathe and he witnessed her reading herself, but they were both momentarily distracted. She was distracted by the bush and he was distracted by her distraction becoming deeper. It was one of those odd moments, but he swiftly recollected himself he saw the flash bomb whirl through the air. His golden optics reverted back onto her while her eyes focussed on the bomb.

It was as if he saw everything in slow-motion. The reason the Uchiha had not been activating his Sharingan lately was so that he could increase his visual perception normally. Naraka was special in many ways, but one of the most important was here they were of different levels. He had to strengthen himself at his base, master himself before he can add Narakan tools. Clearly, it had done him well as he witnessed the sequence occur before him with incredible clarity. The timing was impeccable, and perhaps it was a touch of luck, but just as the flash bomb exploded causing a blinding light Kirinji exhaled deeply and his eyes closed. Using the Goshō to will him through. His body already lowered as he gripped the handle of the blade and without any more hesitation, he ripped out the blade from the sheathing. Schlink!Schlink! Like a bullet being released from the gun. The movement was so rapid and fluid that, without supernatural perception, one would have not even seen the blade being unsheathed and sheathed again, even the ones immediately near him. All they would hear was the subtle sound, but they would witness something and that something was what was released from the sound, and the odd sound that came with it.

A sudden outburst of wind originated from the blue-haired man, occupying the immediate area causing the clothing of everyone to flutter violently. It was so powerful that even the trees would begin to lean side-to-side and it might even push his teammates away from him. A vibrant blue hue slash released from the blade and hurled itself toward the torso of the momentarily blinded spider at a skyrocketing speed. The light would illuminate the forest and the sky itself. And as it traveled toward the creature, it’d seem as the slash was distorting reality itself. The edging around the slash would bend inwards causing the surroundings to blur. The more one stared at it, the more it’d burn their eyes as if they were staring at a tv screen two inches away from their eyes. The lightning-like sound echoed throughout the forest, like a raging storm harassing the clouds and the reverberation agonizing everyone and everything in the area. The true horrors were if this were to land.

If the vibrant blue energy would connect with the creature, the most recognizable feature would be the sheer size of the slash itself. It was deceiving as it traveled toward the creature within an eye-blink, but it would almost completely cover the entire body of the woman and spider. In the same moment of connection, it’d spread out consuming the entire body of the creature and causing agonizing pain and it would begin to fade away into dust. It did not matter the structural integrity of the defense the creature had, nor what it was made out of, cause this space-time disruption would send the molecular structure of the creature into a frenzy causing complete eradication. The successful capture of the creature would cause a distorting sound effect and an even more powerful outburst of air that would cause the clouds in the sky to part. The sky would remain an unnatural vibrant blue with shines of white like a star sparkling before it was slowly washed away.

Immediately after the blue-haired man was scooped up without consent, and much to his surprise, caused him to lose balance and stumble a bit. He fell to his knee momentarily as he glanced around staring at Kasami having fallen onto Ko and the bewilderment in all their faces, including his own, spoke volume. What the fuck? was the only thought that echoed through his mind as he made a grimacing face. Clearly, still, a lot to learn from the Goshōsetsu. Just like Kasami, Kirinji had noticed the fast-approaching gate as well. This was where they wanted to go this whole time and it was there where they were dropped. Upon landing on the dirt, it took him a moment to realign his balance and to remove the nauseating feeling of being bounced around. As he looked around, an off-setting feeling dug itself into his stomach and occupied the space there. Where is everyone? He thought to himself, his eyes glanced over at Ko to see if he was wondering the same thing and to verify he was not insane. The village gates were saturated with moss and unkempt, there was an odd tree that was hollowed out inside. There were no Senpu Monks in sight, only a batch of Kappa. This place was abandoned.

The man thought back to what Kiyoshi had told the group. There was supposed to be a dead drop set up for them with a map of the village and interior, alongside vouches, and particular tools that would aid them in dealing with the wildlife. Set-up by the Senpu Monks was what he had taught. His eyes scanned the abandoned area. Were they too late? He glanced at the moss once again. Was the information not up to date? Had Izanagi believed that there were still present here, but it was outdated? Or was this a cover-up and a safety measure, hiding their location from the enemy? Eventually, his eyes came across the abandoned shack. Kiyoshi had said that was where the dead drop would be set. “Excuse me,” Kirinji said politely as he vanished from the checkpoint and moved his way toward the abandoned shack. He was at the door as he reached out pushing the door open. Kirinji made sure to remain alert and check visually, and any chakra sensory, before cautiously entering the shack.

Everything slowly began to fall apart as Imperious made himself known to Eiji and let him know what he saw and thought. Imperious being a personification of Eiji's pride, confidence, and knowledge along with ???'s intent was something that could always give Eiji an advantage but was also a double-edged sword in that regard. If Eiji let his guard down Imperious could overwhelm him greatly and take over, the party has seen this once before in the past but at the same time, if Eiji is strong enough Imperious can give him advice, tips, and abilities that he never knew he had, things hidden subconsciously Imperious can unearth. On that note, this one was one of those times that Imperious was advantageous to not only Eiji but his entire party.

At the moment that Ko began to flare up with his vermillion chakra, Eiji's image was seen with a sinister smirk though no one else would have been paying attention to it thanks to the flashy display made by Ko. If the spider's attention had been caught by Ko at all this would give Eiji an opening. No one would notice that Eiji had slipped out of the way, no not just out of the way he was gone, somewhere into the woods but still near the path. He'd distanced himself greatly from the others but was close enough to be able to get back if needed, but what was the importance of this? Well, Eiji's puppet was still there moving at the same time as Kirinji drawing his weapon. If the spider was hit by Kirinji's overwhelming slash then the puppet's sneak attack would easily catch it off guard.

When Kirinji's attack was launched they would see Eiji's puppet extend one arm towards the spider and from it would shoot out a wave of ice coming from the opposite side of Kirinji's. The ice wave however was a distraction as from behind it was launched several senbon at the same speed as chakra-based lightning. Had the spider missed these senbon coming at her or been hit by the ice wave, they would be drastically disabled, and even worse they would be unable to heal any wounds given to them. This would be the result of The Murakumo Toxin that Eiji obtained back in the Mebu castle.

At the same time, this was happening Eiji was attempting something that could not only save his team and himself but help out the people trapped here but before he could even start he was finished due to himself being the first one snatched up and dragged away swiftly, "
What is this? Hel..." before he could finish the word help he was whisked away to another location being dropped like an amazon package by a mailman on your doorstep. He looked around for a second trying to get his bearings as he noticed his team was here as well and it seemed somewhat safe before one of the mysterious creatures that snatched them said, "LICENSE AND REGISTRATION! NOW!" Eiji was too confused and somewhat startled to even think of how to respond at the moment and Imperious was just laughing too hard and enjoying his teams' folly when they attempted to fight the spider.

The arachnid lingered around them, not once showing any sign of backing down despite the attempts of showing that we meant no harm. Changing our path course wasn’t helpful because it directed us to its territory. And even now as Misaho along with her new team wanted to make a run of it the persistent creature stood its ground by taunting and attempting to scare them. Eventually, the kunoichi managed to successfully drown out the taunts. Not paying any mind to it in order to remain tranquil. When she caught the glimpse of their stalking antagonist it wasn’t soon after she noticed the subtle signal from Kirinji to stop the group from walking. She felt doubtful and conflicted, would it be right to stop now? It’s not like running was helping but she wasn’t really itching for a fight with this horrid arachnid. As much she doubted what she’ll do she ended up halting her movements and turning to her behind expecting well… the worst case that the spider was ready to pounce upon them. And well the sight was indeed hideous and disturbing, the mouth of the spider was opening up and it was so close to them. The sight was honestly just any child's horrible nightmare and now she just stands in front of it like it’s an everyday thing. However, instead of seeing a thousand teeth as you would in nightmares that turn everything drastically worse and unrealistic, she spotted something she wouldn’t expect. They stood toe to toe with a spider who hid a woman inside its mouth, which seemed attached to the spider. It was as if the spider itself was just mere armor to the woman or honestly just part of her.

One wouldn’t dream to see this, a woman that smirked at them so maliciously in the nude with a tongue that seemed like one of a snake along with long black hair that hid most of her face. With her presence alone she could hear the screams of those trapped within her webs. What was she doing to them? Why are they suffering more now that she came out of her first layer? The sinister woman seemed even more excited now that Kirinji tried to stop her pursues. Misaho wasn’t happy to hear the woman's answer, a rejection. It seemed as if she had been itching for us to come here, which made Misaho wonder if that included her as well since she was basically a stranger. Maybe it wasn’t a coincidence that she ended up in Naraka. If that would be correct it means that there’s a whole lot more to her connection with this place that she was aware of, but she would prefer to be the wrong person in the wrong place. She’s always been in the waking world and for most parts of her life kind of separated from most of the waking world. There’s no way she had any relation to Naraka from any time in the waking world, this was just her beginning. This was probably directed to the others who had been here longer than her… although she doesn’t know for how long they’ve been here already.
The conversation was short-lived because before Misaho knew it Ko was already initiating an attack, he was enveloped in a vermillion chakra one that glowed ever so brightly. That chakra promised to bed as powerful as it seemed when it scorched the ground beneath him. The sight of it made the woman ready to pounce back but was blinded in the end by the flash bomb that came from the bush. However, the flash bomb wasn’t from any of her teammates. From the second the flash bomb was thrown Misaho followed the direction where it came from where shortly after several creatures jumped down from the treelines and moved in hastily. Honestly, Misaho was puzzled by the sight of it, so much that she kind of froze up and didn’t know what to do. She couldn’t grasp what was occurring to her, to all of them right now. Everything was going so fast. Within that same moment of the flash bomb going off, it seemed that her other teammates took their chances to initiate an attack upon the Arachne woman. The Uchiha had taken his opportunity to strike her down first hand while she was distracted, and the attack itself held some much force of the wind that Misaho barely was able to hold her proper balance of the sudden outburst of wind because she was to the closest person standing near him. Her figure was quick to revert to a stable stance as she caught herself from falling or flying away. Then another attack was launched by the puppeteer who initiated the hopeful final blow to the creature.

However, she had only seen a few seconds of the possible damage of their attacks because she was immediately scooped up by one of the kappa men and removed from the location against her will like the rest of her team. She too was whisked away and brought to the village the kappa men wanted them to get to. She too wondered what the hell was going on like them and honestly wasn’t prepared for these unexpected events.’This trip is starting to feel like an emotional roller coaster’ She looked around seeing nothing but kappa wandering around. This place seemed lifeless and abandoned for quite a while judged by the growing moss that covered the village gate. She then stared at the beings who demanded their license and registration with the most puzzled expression ever. Honestly, she started to really miss the freedom she had on her own in the waking world in Sunagakure.

"License and registra-...."

-Ko repeated in confusion, a fluster of thought, calculation, emotion and words - all swelling through the back of his mind. A lot of it was a blur, he wasnt sure exactly what had happened to him when he was back there being accosted by that spider-witch of a woman in the forest...but it felt good; and a lot of his thoughts and senses seemed to have to catch up to this moment in the here and now after it had occurred. Previously, when the flash bomb was thrown for anyone else they more then likely would have been the ones that bit off more then they could chew. But the youngest of the spider-blighted was not just any creature of Naraka. The eldest Uchiha among them had closed his eyes and let off a beast of an attack towards the woman just before the flashbomb went off...however that may have made all the difference to the equation before them. Originally - when the Kappa came out they had a litany of tools and weapons ready, this had very obviously been an assault planned on the Spider-blighted for quite some time and had been something in motion since before the group of shinobi had arrived here. Their tools, bombs and battle formation had all been particularly curated to net them the biggest advantage and biggest chance of success against the woman as possible. But the group had been an unaccounted for variable in the situation. Eiji, would find his attacks useless, null in void. And any aspect of Kirinji's sword draw that included chakra as well would have been diffused, rendering it down to nothing more then the wind and pure force of the slash. This was a kin to the same way that Ko had suddenly been snapped from the chakra mode that he found himself in as the bombs went off. It was because not only was there the flash bomb that had gone off, but more importantly the ones that dispersed a jade light and then the one that dispersed the purple one as well. Once the jade light had dispersed was when all of these features, especially Ko's chakra form would dissipate and whence the purple one burst was when the woman's lights in the canopy of trees would diminish. The spider was left there screaming and wailing - peddling backwards only to get stricken with the gust of the slash from Kirinji - which would have sent a crimson hue of blood splashing out to the treeline followed by a wailing scream of protest. However in that triumph lay a problem just as well. The gust was strong enough that Misaho much like others in the group of Kappa had to watch their footing, and with it - the traps and tools they had brought to hoist the woman down to a focused placement had also been cast awry by the navy-haired man's attack; leaving her able to have free range of motion and fall back. The blood from the slash would not simply fall wild...but instead would resonate deep red and stop as if paused there in motion and over the scar that would now adorn the front of the spider's body. From here, it was up to the Kappa now - as the group was wisked away and brought to where they stand now.

Now here they were. This creature was yelling at them license and registration and Ko was fumbling it around in his head. Kirinji - had absently walked off to the shack which be it as it may that it was their objective, it spoke nothing to what this being meant by license and registration; which only caused Ko to frantically repeat the phrase in his head not only to try and jog some short term memory that may have been pushed back to the subconscious side of his mind but to emphasize to himself the importance of figuring it out here and now and refocusing himself to that regard. For all that he knew if he did not find such a thing right now - this entire group of Kappa and vicariously through conflict with them, all Kappa, could become their enemy. And with that, one more problem. He was no stranger to this kind of thing, having been asked a litany of different identifications when he was in ANBU as well as different passwords and indicators, and typically his rule of thumb was: "When a stranger in a strange land, if you dont know what they're talking about. Its best to put two and two unknowns together." but what was the other unknown in his mind pertaining to the scenario. In truth, he was begining to get frustrated - but he didnt show that because it would be a blatant sign that he was caught with his pants down and they were not supposed to be here; at least to the Kappa in front of him. But then he put two and two together. "The fuckin necklace." he said to himself, drawing it from inside his shirt and out into the open he would brandish it before the kappa, having high hopes that this is the identification that the being referred. The Kappa's slit eyes widened at the bobble and enough had been said. It hopped to a straight at attention posture and beat its chest with a firm solid fist upon it:

1648345402060.png

"A representative of the Dragon himself. Wonderful! Perhaps you all can set things right here and fill the gaps. Captain Toki is just in the village center there. He can fill you in when you have settled. But whatever you do - do not venture further back out the village gates to the south until the Spider-Witch has been dealt with. Shes set up an expanse outside the gate to box us in and keep reinforcements out."

With that being said - the Kappa pointed over to the center of the road just down a ways to a campfire. Where many Kappa sat around and even on the rooftops near watching a singular Kappa that seemed to wear a rather large gold Kabuto upon his head. He seemed to be he leader - this Captain Toki he spoke of. Ko stood there looking confused. Not only was he shocked that this worked so well, but the fact of the matter that this was happening, that the village seemed empty - devoid of any humanoid in view at all, and the fact that Izanagi gave them these amulets just before they arrived here. Was he just that on point? Was this item just that important a staple in the current times here in Naraka? Or did his words before - betray the action now, and he knew or at least had some form of an idea that things would transpire the way that they had now? Ko didnt like being moved along a chess board, and in this moment he felt like not only was he being moved - but expertly at that. As the Kappa left, the fast creature seeming to skate across the ground heading back over to the campire in the distance Ko got himself together making certain that everyone was here accounted for and that everyone was fine, but focusing more so on Kasami. He gave her the same vocal "Hey, are you good?" and look that he gave everyone - but it was clear he lingered on her more and gave her a much more detailed look over. Something seemed to jar his attention as his head perked up a moment and then he looked over at Eiji, casting a silent gaze before looking back and around to the dilapidated teahouse that Kirinji had moved into.

There in the teahouse, the man would have been greeted by - despite its ragged countenance, what seemed to be a place that at least someone had been prior. There was paper all around, crayons. Had children been playing here before? There were several drawings on the ground, of the children crude as you would expect from a child but some things were vivid and could be made out. There were the Senpu monks, al the same color robe on them and bald heads so they were easy to make out. Then there were drawings of the monkeys and them, along with the monks. A few of flowers, the Monastary, and then finally some of the village huts and bugs...centipedes. The teashop seemed to be very well decorated despite its run down nature - it was evident by the interior that the moss on the outside was not to be mistaken for a timestamp on the village, the insides seemed to be better kept. Perhaps it was simply the way of the Senpu Monks to let the vegetation grow as it may on the outside while maintaining the sanctity within. The teashop was designed in a way, like a bar - having a counter and fixings behind just the same. Had Kirinji gone around behind the counter he would find a box ready to go for them, its contents (_1_) ready to aid them in their journey. Along side of that box was a bottle of water sitting on top of a piece of paper. The gourd it was in was of a very special make and evidently this was important as well. What was not however so evident was whether or not this was part of the dead-drop that had been left for them. All of it would be sitting there in place. Meanwhile - outside where the tree with the hollowed stump set, Ko was rather curious. In his time he was used to the customary deaddrop points being under a bridge behind a loose brick, or even inside of a hollowed out tree rather than using it as a landmark. He couldnt help but peak his head inside the knot hole, only to raise a brow and reach inside. As he did such, he would withdraw a scroll with a purple border, flipping it in hand as he examined it and recognized it as one of the scrolls that Kirinji had been keeping on his person. It didnt take long before he would have followed behind Kirinji - balancing the scroll on his fingertip as he seemed to be surveying the room...but in actual likelihood of things he was more so surveying himself; the way his body felt, this new found perception of the world around him...everything felt...alive like he could feel every cell of his body in pure lucidity of their individual existence among him. Seeing the interior of this room, the forest outside, Kasami, all of it - it was different then it was before that moment and it made him curious as he looked at the scroll balancing on his fingertip and for a moment wondered...is this what it means to be balanced out?

"I think there was a bonus in there for you. Something for ya to thank Izanagi for next we see him, I guess - if it even was from him."

Kasami finally blinked when Kirinji excused himself and moved past the Kappa toward the shack, snapping her out of her daze as she watched him leave. This was a peculiar situation. She had stopped trying to guess at how events would turn out in Naraka, but it was still always a surprise sometimes. This was one such time, surrounded by these Kappa that literally were walking reptilian people. There was no time for being so shell-shocked though. Eventually there would come a time where she couldn't react to surprises anymore and she would just have to learn to roll with everything that was thrown at her, but this was a grand new world full of grand new things, and she was like a baby with freshly opened eyes. After a moment of clearer thought, she was able to guess at the license or registration that was asked of them was the mysterious extra necklace that Izanagi had given them, and Ko was of the same mind. He brandished it to the Kappa before them from within his shirt and the recognition on his scaley face brought her relief. Regardless of whether they had helped the team out of the situation with the arachnid it hadn't necessarily meant that they were aligned in their goals or support of Izanagi. It also, without knowing what Kappa were, wasn't like they could assume friend from foe in an area where bandits were common as well. This confirmed that they were where they needed to be, yet the place wasn't exactly what she expected. This was obviously just a checkpoint for them to get to the monastery, but she had thought there would at least be a couple monks here.

The young girl pulled herself up off the ground, setting both feet upon the ground before she stood fully and started to dust off her backside. Brand new clothes and she put them in the dirt first, how disappointing was that. She was checking on other things, like the small glass chimes hanging from her braids, and adjusting her top when the Kappa mentioned his captain.
Captain Toki. It's hard to assume he's a hard ass just because he's a captain... Most people here have been nice. Though the first time I approach someone as if they're friendly will be when they aren't. I should probably just wait for the others. She thought to herself, setting her braids off her shoulders so they hung down her back, at mercy of the sway of her walk or the breeze. Their melody was enjoyable to listen to, a soft and gentle twinkling, and not very loud or dense in sound. Sometimes she barely noticed they were there.

Part of her wanted to go on ahead and introduce herself. Find out more about the situation if she could and see what the Kappa was referring to by "setting things right" for them, but no one liked to repeat themselves and they would probably find her lacking anyway. For the time being she would just linger around. As she was starting to move off to the shack to take a peek herself, Ko asked her if she was okay. She made eye contact with him and had to stop for a moment, staring into his eyes. It seemed like he was giving her a thorough look over to make sure he was okay so he probably didn't notice how hard she was looking at first, but if he made eye contact with her again, she would look away quickly and smile. "I'm okay, thank you. I'll go check out the shack too. I think Kirinji has been in there long enough to know it's safe." As ragged as it looks. The afterthought amused her, and she knew eventually she would have to talk to Ko if he didn't know already, but his eyes... It was obvious he was feeling the effects that the change the vermillion chakra had had on him. The way he'd looked himself over with an almost curious fascination before. It's not like they had a mirror, but the color looked good on him... She blew out a soft sigh as she turned and headed into the shack. The moment she stepped inside she was pleasantly surprised with the interior's preservation and the thought had also crossed her mind that maybe the area liked to let nature run its course on the outside. There had been a shrine outside her childhood home that they had felt much the same about, in honor of the person whose shrine it was. Someone whose love for nature was as bountiful as her love for people- her mother. Well, as much of her mother as any adopted child.

Ko hadn't been too far behind her when she came into the shack, balancing a scroll on his fingers and addressing Kirinji about it. Her teammate had had a particular interest in a set of scrolls since they'd embarked on their journey and as much as she'd wanted to read them too, she had actually never asked him for the chance to. She always either peeked over his shoulder or settled with him telling her about them, but she felt like it would have been more beneficial to read them herself. Messages between the lines or even something to take away from them. But... she was kind of a pushover when it came to that kind of stuff. If Kirinji wouldn't offer to let her read them, she felt uncomfortable asking. Instead, she moved over to the little drawings strewn around and gave them a look. The Senpu monks were self-explanatory, since the monastery was here and that was where they were headed, but she was wondering about the monkeys. They held some sort of significant presence in Ouka, but she couldn't really tell if that was a good or bad thing. She knew monkeys were typically a symbol of warding off evils, but that would bode ominously for them as well if that was the case too. There were a lot of other meanings monkeys had. An allegory of man's evolution. A token of idiocy or vanity. Or... maybe there were just monkeys in Ouka. She could either overthink it or not think about it at all, but she saw some importance to at least venturing possibilities. Most clues were hidden in plain sight, and she didn't want to miss anything, but she probably also looked like a baboon scrutinizing a kid drawing so hard. She took everything in the drawings in, including the flowers, the crude depiction of the monastery itself and the colors of the robes. She committed it all to memory, because she sure wasn't about to snatch a child's scribbles away from them. They were cute though and made her smile when she finally took a step back and saw them all scattered about. It was kind of homey, and what she'd imagine it would look like if she had children too. She glanced at Ko momentarily and then looked toward the door, shoving the thought away before she walked over to him and nudged him with her elbow. "How are you feeling? ... Not to alarm you or anything, but your eye color changed. It's a nice color though. It looks like that chakra." Her gaze locked onto him as she talked to him, unintentionally staring but unable to look away. Looking at them just reminded her of the times that she'd seen that chakra before. It was few and far between, but each time had been very interesting situations.

“Tch.”

Kirinji clenched his jaw in annoyance as the jade light neutralized his attack. The Uchiha had an idea of what it was. Therefore, he wasn’t annoyed at the people, they had good intentions, but more so about the situation itself. All parties had encountered each other at the wrong moment and because of that each parties plan had been foiled unintentionally. Uncontrollable factors, one of the most annoying variable change there was. Painful, especially for them since it seemed they had been hunting the creature for some time. However, the force of his slash would leave the beast in agonizing pain. The deep slash would undoubtedly leave a scar, one they would remember. Their next encounter and circumstances would vastly differ from the one they had today. Kirinji would glance up at the victims in the web, the light neutralized by purple bomb. Next time, he’d scorch away that repulsive creature from this very world if it hadn’t been already. This would be justice for the victims he could not save today.

By now he was opening the door of the shack. Surprisingly, it was much cleaner that what he had expected. It was clear that the vegetation and foliage were not because of poor upkeep, but intention. His eyes darted to all sides of the room before he stepped into the shack, with great hesitation at that. His heel had planted just outside of the door path and he toes slowly sinked downwards before planting with what was the floor inside the shack. The Uchiha was hoping it was not some sort of trap and that his entry would whisk him away far from here. When nothing of that came into fruition, he first walked in and scanned the area. Pictures of Senpu Monks, monkeys, and the flowers and wildlife of Naraka, or perhaps Ouka specifically, occupied the walls. He looked over them with a keen eye to see if anything stood out. Eventually, he’d move along to look over the rest of the area inside the shack.

Behind the counter he found a box alongside a gourd of liquid with a paper underneath. It did not seem like it was apart of the drop, but he took a particular interest in it especially since the material was so unique. In one hand he held the gourd and in the other the piece of paper which he raised up closer to his face so he could read. They were words left behind by Izanagi. And it seemed to talk about the Nirvana Fountainhead Waters, something he had some experience with but not for more than a few minutes as they said it would consume him. He never understood what that meant. However, now, he has been starting to piece then information together. Nirvana, The Fountainhead Waters, Bladed Thesis, and Shuten Doji. It was enough to keep the greatest conquerer Naraka had even seen out of these lands. And they were in it.

By the time Ko had entered into the shack, Kirinji had already set the box onto counter and began taking out the contents for them to pick up. The gourd and paper had been placed inside his bag which was around his back already and he had seen the warning in regards to the monkeys. “Oh wow you found another one! That’s surprising to see, especially here, hm — I doubt it’s from him though.” Kirinji raised his hand with an open palm so Ko could toss him the scroll once he had laid out the contents. On the counter were six immunization syringes, a map for the Senpu Monastery, a Monkey Charm, Protection Talisman, and six grappling hooks. Kirinji would take one of the six immunization syringes, one of the grappling hooks, the map for the Senpu Monastery, and the Monkey Charm. He had recalled reading an excerpt regarding how the the Sacred Monkeys of Ouka are at the apex of the food chain and he hoped this could aid or form as a symbol of some sort. He tied the charm in one of the front belt loop where it dangled in front of his pocket next to the jade symbol Izanagi had given them.

Kirinji would walk out from the counter and towards the exit once Kasami had joined them. With the scroll in hand, he’d walk outside and gesture to the other two to come get the rest of their equipment. For a moment, he waited outside the shack a distance away so he had some sort of privacy so he could read the scroll. The contents of the scroll was intriguing and when he had opened it, it had felt like sharp talons had been wrapping around his mind. This was more than likely what Izanagi had meant about keeping the scrolls on him and reading them. Each time he does, the Hadou of Cruelty tries to taint his mind. Regardless, someone like Kirinji, he could just not know. He fought back against the hadou. Just like Izanagi, he will was strong. It talked about the home of the Tengu, Nirvana, and how life as a Tengu was not exactly what he he expected. War had began in Nirvana and from it poured out monstrosities. Was the Mask Salesman a byproduct of Nirvana? Who was Guilderstern? The more information he encountered and digested, the more questions he had.

Once he had finished reading the scroll, he rolled it up and once done so it was whisked away by Space-Time. He looked around at their surroundings and the Kappa that occupied this land. One of them - stuck out and it was to that specific kappa that he moved towards. As he approached the kappa in the golden kabuto, he began by first introducing himself. “Thank you for rescuing us from the spider. Hi, my name is Kirinji. We were sent by Izanagi on a recovery mission.” He then glanced around before speaking again, “Do you know happened here? We were expecting Senpu Monks.”

This was a lot to unpack, would the woman tell the tale in the waking world of what she went through in these moments on Naraka alone one would think she’s a lunatic. There she sat on the ground after being tossed off the dog with the kappa men yelling for a license and registration, now that was almost like the waking world in some parts. But it had never happened to her, never was demanded from her. It was kind of funny to experience it on her own instead of watching it happen from a distance as a bystander. From the kunoichi’s facial expression it was clear she was trying to fully make sense of what was happening, for most part of the scooping and dragging session she was kind of out of it. It wasn’t as if she was physically unconscious. It was more that she was tuned off from everything and anything surrounding her for a moment, she was like a deer in headlights. It wasn’t until she heard the loud voice of the Kappa that she snapped out of it to wonder what was going on. She obviously was oblivious to anything related to a license, had she not paid attention enough to the words of Izanagi and Kiyoshi? She mentally started stressing out if she lacked any focus on the instructions that would immediately seem unprofessional to her. One could see the stress visibly in her eyes just for a few seconds, that is until her eyes were set on Ko. Even he was mentally trying to come up with a solution or an understanding. That is when she had the most desperate look on her face that made it look as if she was wishing for any sort of miracle of them to just appear right in front of her. Unrelated to the situation but somehow believing that the wishes and hopes of one seemed to be granted when Ko revealed the necklace to the kappa.

Misaho let out a loud sigh of relief and seemed to be mentally cheering when they seemed to be satisfied with the sight of the necklace, it seemed to be the license they needed and luckily they all carried their necklaces.’YES! Thank you! Cross them out for a possible threat!’ However, the cheering was short-lived when she realized that this wasn’t the end yet and probably a brief stop in the middle of the mission. The woman looked at her team one by one as some of them were looking around in the village, she could see the confusion on their face. This location wasn’t as how it was described, there were no Senpu monks or any other citizens except for these reptilian figures. Whenever Ko made his round of making sure everyone was okay Misaho confirmed she was unharmed. One thing she was extremely grateful for because she wouldn’t know for how much longer she would remain unharmed, it was clear that the creatures that roamed around here proved to be malicious and dangerous. The purple-haired girl was scared that she was unprepared for this, but ensuring herself that anything would be better than her previous lifestyle is what kept her calm and kept her away from her insecurities for the moment.

One by one she would watch her teammates head over to the shack, first up was Kirinji who went up ahead to check things by himself. Some moments later Ko and Kasami followed after him to the Teahouse, leaving Eiji and herself outside. It wasn’t until she saw Kirinji come out of the shack and he gestured for both of them to come that she headed over to them. While she walked over there she dusted off any sign of dirt herself that she received from the fall earlier to make her appearance seem less rough. Finally, she arrived at the teahouse only to gaze at the newly found items from inside the building. That is when she took one of the remaining syringes and stuffed it in her pouch along where she held the necklace and any other weaponry. The syringe was the only thing that spoke to her right now, she left the other items for the others if they wanted to have them.

While she was there she picked up the last part of Ko and Kasami's conversation. The topic gave Misaho a flashback of the earlier event where he was surrounded by this bright and powerful chakra that left quite an impression on her, but by the conversation, it was something that was rare but definitely happened before. There was a lot to find out about her teammates, and this was probably mutual because she hadn’t really told them anything at all. The spider kind of robbed her of that moment of opening up a little. There wasn’t any time for that. Just as the young woman entered the shack, once she got what she needed she went back outside and patiently waited for them all to come out of the shack once they were done getting what they needed. She wondered what was next for them because this moment wasn’t gonna be the worst. That is when she parted her lips and faced the three of them as Kirinji would already approach the kappa men.”So, now we managed to avoid that crazy spider's harassment… what’s next? This place isn’t how it was supposed to be right?”
