She laid there with her eyes closed for a moment, completely still with bated breath, taking in the chirping of birds and other things that one would have a hard time recognizing without sight. Odd sounds- sounds that had already given her hints that she was in strange territory. Bamboo made interesting hollow noises when bumping against each other, she came to find, as her eyes opened slowly to watch them sway around her. Her eyes narrowed for a moment, gauging the condition of her body. Everything seemed fine, besides the light tingle across her skin, until she finally took a deep breath in. Her lungs protested, straining to allow air into its occupied capacity. It was a feeling she recognized instantly, and for a second confusion subdued her. It was strange to find herself in such a situation without any memory of the 'how' it happened, considering she had always been extremely careful after she and Ko had momentarily parted ways.
As she tried to recall her memories, she took great care in sitting up slowly so she didn't agitate her condition, and took a real good look around. It was a bamboo forest, no doubt- it was all she could see around her. Unbeknownst to her there were others around, but in the location that she had been left- the forest was rather dense. There was enough room for her to walk, but there were no clear paths. For the time being, she could see no reason to rush herself, so she decided to cross her legs toward herself and rest her hands on her knees.
There was no way to tell which direction she was facing or which one to head in. The sun was not definitive enough of a tell with its position to give her a clear idea of what time it was, or if it was in its setting or rising direction. It was just high enough in the sky to be at an annoying point of equilibrium. If anything- it was somewhere around midday, but that didn't help her at all with direction. There were no other trees she could inspect to look for moss or dense bark. Bamboo didn't have a particular growth pattern in correlation with sun direction, it just grew straight up, so it was no help to her at all as well. There weren't any other plants than grass, so at the moment she was stumped on how to find her way.
She sighed as she ran her fingers through the grass she was sitting on, her attention finally shifting down toward her body. Instantly she noticed the state of her clothes, and were her skin not already humming with a slight buzz she'd have noticed them clinging to her sooner. Drops of water beaded across her exposed flesh and something about that water felt... peculiar. Being the curious one that she was when it came to a few things in particular, nature her most prodding subject of all, she found herself raising her hand to sniff at the droplets on the inside of her wrist. It was odorless, so she could at least cross out over half of potential plant based mixtures and rule out that it was, more than likely, not toxic. Not toxic unfortunately didn't mean it wouldn't taste terrible. Kasami's eyes narrowed a moment before she gingerly licked her wrist. The immediate repulsion as the few water drops came into contact with her tongue was enough to make her gag, and with that reflex came the sensation and sound of being dropped into deep water. It rushed over her and swallowed her up.
"So," she paused a moment as she got to her feet, pulling her hair from behind her and over her shoulder to wring it out, "I drowned." Her voice was light, as if it was nothing to her but just another typical day, and considering her journey with Ko- it basically was. There was nothing tasting the water helped her with, other than making her nauseous, it didn't give her a trail at all- so whatever the source was, it was far away and gone. She had a theory in mind, but it wasn't strong enough to tell her where she was at all. She'd only ever heard of chakra that tasted so foul in stories.
With a sigh and a stiff stretch, she started to walk in the direction that she was facing at a slow enough pace to be wary of traps around her. She still had her pouch hidden under the bow of her kimono, and it had quite a number of her small and lethal concoctions in it. It might be enough to help her out of a situation with any wildlife she would run into, but she knew if she ran into a hostile person- it would take a lot more than that. At the moment she was keeping herself as concealed as possible, and trying to stay out of anything's way in the meantime.
